ATM operators have sought a higher exchange rate for ATM transactions, due to which they can comply with the RBI's strict instructions recently. At present, all banks charge customers Rs 5 for cash withdrawal each time from othConfederation of ATM Industry (CATMI) has demanded that the charge should be increased from ATM to at least Rs 3 to 5, for ATM transactions so that ATM operators can deduct their expenditure in rising inflation. CATMI director Srinivas said that recently RBI has issued a very strict guideline, which will increase the total cost of ATM service providers.
RBI said banks should implement the minimum criteria in the system with service providers for Cash Management related activities from July. It has given orders for ATM service providers to have 300 cash van, a driver, two guards and at least 2 gunmen. Cashless GPS should be equipped with.er banks' ATM, and 5 rupees for other non-cash transactions, every bank has to pay after 5 transactions. If this demand is accepted then the customers of the bank will have to pay more for other bank ATM.
